We are continuing to follow all safety and public health guidelines from Maine CDC and the Governor.
Based on current guidance from Governor Mills and the Maine Center For Disease Control we are canceling all large gathering events (Athletic Games, Musicals, etc.) in our schools until further notice. School will continue next week as scheduled.
The District took several more important steps this week, including limiting work/school-related domestic travel to within the state of Maine for our teachers and students. School group travel that had been planned for conventions and competitions has been canceled. This includes group events and performances at our schools including the DRHS Musical and all athletic competitions for the foreseeable future. Beginning tomorrow, we are curtailing the number of large-group events held on campus, including college and financial aid information nights. Still unknown as of this writing are the potential effects on spring high school sports in Maine, and we are in regular contact with the Maine Principals’ Association about this.
For more information on Maine’s response to COVID-19 and updated testing results, visit the Maine CDC website. Additionally, Maine CDC and 211 Maine have launched a new option for Mainers to get answers to questions about COVID-19 at any time. This service is available by dialing 211 (or 1-866-811-5695), texting your ZIP code to 898-211, or emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
I would urge you to check the AOS #94 website www.aos94.org as well for information regarding scheduled school events.
If you have a question about a specific event please call your local school for more information.
